911 Educational Training Videos

The St Clair County ETSB offers several educational video tapes that are available for use for teaching or speaking purposes in St Clair County.

The following tapes can be checked out from the St Clair County ETSB Office at 101 S 1st St in Belleville:

  • Major Action
    Age Group: Young Children
    This video teaches young children what to do in an emergency and how to dial 911. It explains how to make a general phone call, how to speak on the telephone, and how to answer the phone if they are alone. It also discusses how to report an emergency such as an auto accident or robbery and how to tell the difference between an emergency and non-emergency.

  • Mr Peppermint
    Age Group: 4 to 8 Years
    This video uses dinosaurs to teach children about different emergency situations. It explains emergency procedures and how to respond to emergencies. It teaches children to dial 911 and stresses that importance of speaking clearly, staying on the line, and knowing their address and telephone number.

  • 911: How It's Done
    Age Group: Kindergarten to 3rd Grade
    This video was developed to make learning about 911 fun for children. It features "Buzzy", the 911 mascot and children singing the "911 Song". It includes a teacher's guide and a telephone keypad for children to practice dialing 911.

  • Emergency? Dial 911
    Age Group: 1st Grade
    This video uses puppets, rap songs, and other types of music to teach children about 911.

  • Using 911/Protect Yourself
    Age Group: 4th Grade
    This video features a group discussion with a telephone company representative. It also shows several 911 telecommunicators and different types of emergency situations. It explains when to call 911, what to say, and what to do if 911 is dialed by accident.

  • How to Call for Help in a Fire Emergency
    Age Group: Adults
    This video discusses what to do if a fire breaks out and how to fire proof a home. It tells adults how to call 911 and what to say when calling. It also addresses 911 calls for the handicapped and how those calls are handled. Additionally, it stresses the importance of posting emergency numbers and teaching children what to do in an emergency.
